What is Empowered to Connect?

The Empowered to Connect Conference features two days of practical teaching in a safe and supportive community as we work to equip families, churches, and professionals to better serve children impacted by adoption and foster care.

Who should attend the conference?

The conference content is beneficial for anyone who interacts with children. It can be particularly useful for adoptive parents, foster parents, potential adoptive or foster parents, and professionals or ministry leaders serving children.

What are the conference details?

The conference runs from 10am to 6pm on Friday and Saturday, April 5 and 6, 2019. Hosted at at Ogletown Baptist Church in Newark, DE, it will be a simulcast of the live event taking place in Chicago those same days. Thanks to the partnership between Crossroads, Ogletown Baptist Church and Mid-Atlantic Orphan Care Coalition, we are able to offer this seminar at a very minimal cost to attendees.

Lunch  will be provided at the church for attendees on both days.

Unfortunately we are unable to provide childcare for this event. It is not necessary to attend both days, and we encourage you to split childcare responsibilities if you are able.

Will training credits for adoptive and foster parents be available?

Each adoptive and foster parent will receive a certificate of attendance. The certificates will be handed out at the end of each day, per parent. Attendees are responsible for providing the certificate to their agency, and it is at the agency’s discretion whether or not to count participation toward training credits. To be eligible with your agency to receive training credits, each participant will need to turn in to their agency a copy of each certificate and it is beneficial to also provide them the schedule of the conference.

If you require professional CEUs, that is handled directly by Show Hope. You will find a separate link for that on our registration page. Please be sure to follow the instructions and email us so we know you are attending.
